St. Louis-based Sigma-Aldrich Corp. has launched an online portal to promote the company’s products for stem-cell researchers.
Sigma-Aldrich, which makes fine chemicals used in scientific research, said today that it has more than 1,100 products that expected to support all stages of the stem-cell research work flow.
On Monday, President Barack Obama signed an executive order to lift federal funding restrictions on certain types of human embryonic stem cells. Those restrictions were put in place in 2001 by former President George W. Bush.
For more information on Sigma-Aldrich’s stem-cell research products, come back to the Post-Dispatch and stltoday.com.

Not sure if that portal is intended to be looked at by anyone but researchers. If federal funding is going towards it, I think in light of all the transparency laws, the site should be made digestable to the general public, its sounds like we’ll be paying for it.
