Tonight, O’Fallon, Mo., mayor-elect Bill Hennessy will be sworn in for his first term.

Hennessy, who defeated Jim Frain and Councilman Pierce Conley earlier this month, will take the oath tonight during a 5:30 p.m. special council meeting.

Also being sworn in are re-elected councilmen Bill Gardner, Rick Lucas, as well as former Councilman John Haman Jr. and first-term Councilman Bob Howell.

City Clerk Pam Clement will do the honors.

Cake and appetizers will be provided for the mayor, councilmen and their families.

But how long will the party last in O’Fallon? With a new mayor and some fresher blood on the City Council, what does O’Fallon’s future hold? Will Hennessy keep his campaign promise of bringing a new era of harmony to O’Fallon government by improving communication at city hall?

Is O’Fallon going forward, backward or nowhere?

They need to have a parade to celebrate Morrow’s sorry butt being GONE!

O’Fallon will be out of the news because we elected people that think the same. We elected developer friendly poeple and as such we won’t get the fighting that we have had for the last 4 years but we also won’t get any protection. Just think of one issue…our streets… they have gotten better but under the new elected officials they will remove the need for the rock base, because it costs the developers more money, and our streets will fall apart again. That’s just one issue. We get what we ask for. We wanted the fighting to stop, and it will. Now they will stop fighting about everything and just lay down for the developers again. Don’t get me wrong. Morrow needed to go and Hennessy was the best choice. It’s just very concerning that we also elected a Council that will rubber stamp everything for him.

Which O’fallon is this? I don’t live in either one so I don’t recognize the names of the people mentioned. It would help if you clarified.

The big one that has been in the paper way to much, Missouri. Regardless a the past political nonsense spillingover to the city departments, I am cautiously optimistic about the future. Hopefully thing will move forward and not backwards…Geep..Geep…got grapes?

I agree it’s a great day! Morrow will be gone! Hennessy can fire Lowery. Then he can bring back Renaud as City Administrator and Peter Cantwell as Assistant CA and Talbot and Henke to the Police Department.

Things will be so much calmer in O’Fallon… we won’t be in the news at all… Until the FBI raids the PD and the infrastructure of the city falls apart because the builders are allowed to build streets out of paper. Of course we won’t be able to see it because we won’t be able to get out of our garage because the builders will be able to build on any size lot they want. It will be great. You will be able to reach out your window and touch your neighbors house. Think of the time you will save mowing your grass. Sunny days ahead!!!

Morrow sucks but we are in for a whole different suck factor.
