What do you think about the angry Barat Academy coach story?

This is a weird story by the Associated Press about an angry Barat Academy coach who chased after a Ritenour bus and accused students inside of stealing.

The incident happened last week after Ritenour freshman played at Barat Academy in Dardenne Prairie. Ritenour players were heading home after the game when a van sped up behind them, flashed its lights gestured for the bus to pull over on Interstate 64.

The story says Barat Academy coach Jason Theodorakos then accused Ritenour players of stealing money from the locker room. Days later, the money issue was dropped and the coach apologized in a letter. Some parents say he should show up at Ritenour and apologize in person.

What do you think? Was the coach out of line? How could this have been handled differently? Talk about it in the comments below.

I think the coaches behavior was completely uncalled for. He is supposed to set an example for kids. I don’t think he should necessarily be fired. But he should have to write a personal letter of aplogy to the bus driver and every Ritenour student, coach, or parent on the bus. He should also have to write a letter of apology to his own students for his bad behavior.

The coach was taken by his emotions which is not expected by a leader. He was endangering and scaring everyone on the bus, the bus driver should not had stopped for safety reasons. BUT, I can understand the driver thinking it was a parent having an emergency instead of the opposing Coach.
All in all, the coach reacted terribly and should apologize in person to the group and take anger management classes.

He wrote a letter, that’s all that’s needed. Forget this showing up in person, knowing some of those hooligans at Ritenour, they’ll probably stake out the parking lot and flatten his tires while he’s inside…

The bus driver pulled over because the Ritneour Coach on board recognized the driver of the other vehicle. The bus driver has guidelines to follow and maybe listening the coach is one of them.
The Barat coach, in my opinion should have telephoned the other coach the next morning, giving time to consider all the facts. It was not an emergency, or life or death situation.
If money was missing from the lockers maybe the other school did not do it. Other people were in that gym during the game and anyone could have entered the locker rooms. I beleive Ritneour students had nothing to do with this situation except that they were at the school for a game.

Same thing happened with the Ritenour Boys Soccer team. No bus was involved. A phone call was made and the money was returned. Seems that a student at Ritenour has sticky fingers.

This story is not even news worthy. If this is the biggest thing we need to be concerned about in the STL area, we should be thankful.

It is not like threats were made, an assault happened, etc. The man thought they had a problem so he addressed the problem immediately.

Now, he is being “arm chaired quarterbacked” by a bunch of liberal birkenstock & sock wearing nazis.

Get over it, move on.
