St. Charles School District assistant superintendent to serve in Iraq
Rick Radford, assistant superintendent of business services, will leave his position temporarily to serve in Iraq as a major in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He received notice earlier this month of the deployment, his second in Iraq. Radford could be gone until June.
St. Charles Superintendent Randy Charles said the district does not plan to replace Radford while he is away and will distribute his duties among staff. Charles, who was the financial officer for the Mehville School District for many years, said he will work more directly with the business department in light of Radford’s absence.
The district also plans to hire two people, one full-time in business to help with day to day accounting and one part-time to help with administrative duties. Charles said it would be more difficult to find someone with Radford’s expertise willing to take a temporary position.
Radford plans to work another two weeks and then spend some time with his family before leaving the country.

Mr. Radford, Thank you for serving our country. I appreciate the sacrifice you and your family are making. I will pray for your safe return.
I echo young1forevr. My admiration for leading by example. May you make wise decisions and bring all your troops back safe and sound - hooah!
This is a noble action.
The other good news, STC school district should not be short on Asst. Superindentent’s. They have more Asst’s than any place I know. This place is like a bank with VP’s. S
