The news this week includes the closure of four Jefferson County schoolsdue to flu absences and the start of H1N1 vaccinations in the Hazelwood School District.

In St. Charles County, the Wentzville School District told parents today they are preparing to have H1N1 vaccination clinics for students throughout the district that are free of charge on two Saturdays, Oct. 31 and Nov. 7.  The district will be using the H1N1 FluMist vaccine. Parents need to fill out a reservation form to sign up their child.

The Francis Howell School District e-mailed parents Monday to tell them they will be a vaccination site, but like many other schools, are still awaiting information about their allotment of the vaccination and its delivery date. Parents will be informed of vaccination dates and times as soon as this information is available.

Officials with the St. Charles and Fort Zumwalt school districts were quoted in this story that ran Monday about swine flu in schools.
