Thanksgiving grocery store rush begins

Driving to our St. Charles bureau today, I noticed the area around Dierbergs near Zumbehl Road was hoppin’ with traffic. It seems the Thanksgiving rush has started. It made me happy that my trip to the grocery store is already done (that is, unless I forgot something and have to make a last-minute run).
Anybody brave a grocery store today? What was it like? Cashiers are usually lucky if they get a moment to look up from their scanners on days like today.
