Yes, I am the cultural anthropologist invited to participate in this Civil Religion Blog. We can all thank Tim and celebrate the opportunity to agree to understand and constructively disagree with each other on faith and belief-based topics.
Who could have imagined this possible with all that is currently held so very dear and important in contemporary social and political life?
Equally important, if not more so, is the notion that societies would become less spiritually involved with all our technology gadgetry to set us free. Not only is this not true, but the growth of religion and humanism in our lives is growing. Just look at the posting of the last few days right here!
