When beer and faith go together
Travis Scholl
Special to the Post-Dispatch

Today’s New York Times ran an article on “young evangelicals” that features a twenty-somethings church that meets at the Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood. I personally know of at least one other church that meets there regularly.

One of the first lessons I learned in studying religions is that no group, community, or movement is ever monolithic. The Times article speaks to that fact, focusing on a group of evangelicals that could be located within “emergent” evangelical Christianity, communities that tend to be younger who would appear conservative to some, and quite progressive to others.

Goes to show how far labels get’cha.
