I was reading the Qu’ran, and I came across this,
“And do good unto [thy] parents. Should one of them, or both, attain to old age in thy care, never say “Ugh” to them, but [always] speak unto them with reverent speech, and spread over them the wings of thy tenderness…”
Upon reading this, I came to understand that it is indeed important to treat our parents with respect and dignity.
I myself have not always given my parents all the respect they deserve. Our parents sacrifice so much for us to be here today. Even though they have their moments, there is always a good explanation behind them. I believe we should always respect our parents and do our jobs as the offsprings!

For a nice review of the history of the event, and how its creator reacted to the ‘business’ aspect of it, read this article ‘Mother’s Day creator likely spinning in her grave‘ (from the Vancouver Sun).
Mothers have the same…
