And aside from her two exclusive interviews with Charles Gibson and Katie Couric, this will be the nation’s first real chance to see Governor Sarah Palin in an extended discussion of substantive issues.

It’s doubtful Gov. Palin and Sen. Biden will get into religion much. But we have gotten a glimpse into Gov. Palin’s Pentecostal faith.

Last week the Associated Press reported on the episode where a Kenyan pastor “prayed for her protection from ‘witchcraft.’” The video is on her former home congregation’s Web site.

And much has been made of the YouTube video of her at the same congregation, Wasilla Assembly of God Church. Recently, The New Yorker even weighed in.

Yet, for all the sound and fury, we still don’t know a whole lot. But I have found one of the YouTube soundbites to be very telling:

ABC News is in the process of visiting “50 States in 50 Days.” Today they broadcasted their visit to my new state of residence, Kentucky. They actually filmed the piece last Friday.

How do I know that? Because in a state of 40,000 square miles and 4.2 million people, they chose my boss and our office as the launching pad for their story. Click here for the ABC video (Yes, the link does work. No, it does not work for everyone’s computer and/or browser).

I think it is hilarious because, given the parameters of the series, the story could have been about ANYTHING - as long as it touched briefly on the fall election and something to do with Kentucky.

They could have gone to Churchill Downs and asked folks leaving the races their thoughts on the race, for President that is. They could have gone to tobacco farmers to ask about health care or…

So much ink has been spilled over Sarah Palin in the last couple of days — 64 links alone in today’s Morning Edition we sent to Catholic leaders — one could be forgiven for imagining Democrats Obama, Biden and Pelosi heaving a sigh of relief that the reporters are shining the abortion pro-life spotlight on someone else for once.

We now know Sarah Palin is a member of Feminists for Life  and thanks to Mollie over at GetReligion we learn that the Barracuda is a Believer.

Mollie also has complaints — surprise — about reporters being quick to attack Ms. Palin and getting their stories wrong.

And also getting it wrong, lefty bloggers are going after Palin’s daughter….
