Opera Theatre favorite gets exhibit
Designer André Barbe, one-half (with director Renaud Doucet) of the Montreal-based creative team that gave Opera Theatre of St. Louis its delightful production of André Grétry’s Zémire et Azor (aka Beauty and the Beast) and is now working on The Tales of Hoffmann by Offenbach for this season at OTSL, will get a New York exhibition of his production designs.
Opera America, the national service organization for opera, will make Barbe the second designer to be featured in a display at its offices on the 16th floor at 330 Seventh Avenue. The exhibit opens January 25, closes May 30, and can be viewed between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday,
