Coming soon: “Christine Brewer Day” in St. Louis

Post-Dispatch Classical Music

This just in: Thursday, August 7th will be “Christine Brewer Day” in St. Louis.

Things are still falling into place, but this much is set: Mayor Francis Slay will read the proclamation over the air on KFUO (99.1 FM), with Brewer, during morning drive time. She’ll sing “God Bless America” during the Cardinals day game at Busch Stadium. And that evening she’ll (in the words of a publicist) “do an In-Store” at 7 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble at 1600 Clarkson Road in Chesterfield.

Stay tuned for more details!

This is wonderful news! Ms. Brewer is a treasure and the Saint Louis area is fortunate to claim her as a jewel in it’s crown! Now how can we get Joe Edwards on board, to get her a star on the Saint Louis Walk of Fame?!?!

After following Ms. Brewer’s career for some time, it is so good to see Mayor Slay and St. Louis honor this amazing and unique talent with “Christine Brewer Day.” Her new CD is a brilliant collection of pieces that show her rich, velvety and dynamic voice in a wonderful, listenable format. We look forward to Ms. Brewer’s debut at the New York Metropolitan Opera next spring. How lucky are we, that she is so generous with her time and talent, helping voice students, performing at benefits and bringing her beautiful voice to St. Louis audiences. Don’t miss any opportunity to see and hear Christine Brewer, even if it requires travel to another city!
