This is great! That’s $23,000 tax money for the city because of the earnings tax. It’s also good because when these all-stars get their tax bill, they’ll know never to actually sign with the cardinals because then they’ll have to pay it off their whole salary, not just their all-star bonus.

Why is this great? Because I am a Cubs fan.

That’s about the only thing a Cub fan can be excited about.

yeah, cause chicago’s tax laws have brought the cubs a ton of championships.

Have you noticed that Cubs fans only identify themselves with a first name.

Let’s see now, why would any player want to leave Chicago and come play in St. Louis?
1. Bruce Sutter for Leon Durham and Ken Reitz
2. Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio
3. World Series wins in the last 100 years
Cardinals - 10
Cubs - 0
Now I understand why they only use their 1st names.

Why would a player come to STL instead of Chicago. 10 acres in Wildwood for about a million 10 acres in a comparable suburb in Chicago 10 million.

Marquis’ agent to Rockies organization: “…and my client, Mr. Marquis, will also require an All-Star bonus of $75,000.”

Rockies Organization: “Haha, ok…wait…you’re serious?! Uh…yeeeeah…that shouldn’t be a problem on our end.”

As incredible as it may seem, Jason Marquis leads the NL with 11 wins. He’s tied with Wakefield for the Major League lead.
