Today’s 1:20 p.m. start time in Chicago is in question as rain is falling in the Windy City. Joe Strauss reports from Wrigley that the tarp is on the field to keep it dry and expectations are that they will get the game played today. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, here are the starting lineups for both clubs:

ST. LOUIS

2B - Skip Schumaker

CF - Colby Rasmus

1B - Albert Pujols

RF - Ryan Ludwick

LF - Rick Ankiel

C - Yadier Molina

3B - Joe Thurston

SP - Chris Carpenter

SS - Brendan Ryan

CHICAGO CUBS

CF - Reed Johnson

SS - Ryan Theriot

RF - Kosuke Fukudome

1B - Derrek Lee

3B - Aramis Ramirez

LF - Alfonso Soriano

2B - Mike Fontenot

C - Koyie Hill

SP - Rich Harden

EDITOR’S NOTE: My bad on the left field omission. I’ve now added Soriano in, batting sixth. Strauss also just called in to report that the tarp is off the field and they are taking batting practice. Game should start on time.

great… :-/ and hes hitting 5th behind Ludwick… WHAT A JOKE!!! Why is he even still here? We have Rasmus in center. Demote him to Memphis til he starts hitting.

Hey, Ankiel’s breaking out, man! Didn’t you watch the game yesterday? He had a single and everything. Heck, he’ve even got his signs crossed up, got a horrible jump and was thrown out by a mile afterward!

Haters, all of you! And you probably think that “Hey” Joe Thurston shouldn’t be playing either…

ReadySTL,

Ank’s out of options (I believe). He can’t go down unless we cut him and pay him to play for whoever picks him up.

Why is Thurston still on the team? He is a terrible fielder, not a good hitter and he screws up running the bases ALL the time.

Time to send a proposal to the Blue Jays, for Halladay, That centers around Ankiel

We both suck, but we get tons of playing time.

I’ll take Ankeil in LF all day long over the pitching coach’s son. At least we have a decent chance at defense, even though my sister could be his designated hitter right now. He either needs a manager or a shrink to help him out of this funk……or perhaps a swift kick in the a$$

I’d go with swift kick in the ass! Ankiel maybe out of options but it doesn’t mean we have to keep him on the major league club. They sent down K. Greene to work out his “issues”… Do the same for Ankiel!!! Stop playing him unless its in Memphis til he starts hitting again.
