Joe Torre said the Dodgers will stick with the same lineup for Game 2 this afternoon against the Cardinals.

“I waited until (Ronnie) Belliard showd up, and he seemed to come out of it fine last night. So we’ll go with the same ones,” Torre said.

Torre could have used Orlando Hudson at second instead. “He’s disappointed,” Torre said. “Orlando and I had a conversation when we were in San Francisco, our last trip. And at that point, Belliard was there, and I had told him, I said, ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do on a day-to-day basis.’ And I continue to tell him, and I’ll tell anybody who wants to listen, that without Orlando, what he did for us early in the year — and I probably played him too much, especially off the surgery he had and we didn’t even know in spring training if he was going to be ready when the season started.

“But he was ready and played every single day. But at this point in time, he’s fighting it a little bit. He still contends that he’s 100 percent healthy, but I think we played him a lot and the the effects is showing up a little bit. He can play, But Bellieard right now is, youw — he’s given us a more productive bat at this time.:”

The lineup:

Rafael Furcal, SS

Matt Kemp, CF

Andre Ethier, RF

Manny Ramirez, LF

James Loney, 1B

Casey Blake, 3B

Ronnie Belliard, 2B

Russel Martin, C

Clayton Kershaw, P

This is why Torre will be managing next round, and Tony will watch. Give Torre equal talent and he’ll beat TLR 90% of the time.

Agreed. He’s finds a good lineup and sticks with it. TLR not playing Schumaker is a mistake.

i’m surprised and disappointed. there are some problems with the offense and they are not confined to molina, glaus and lugo. if albert and matt were hitting, yadi wouldn’t be batting with the bases loaded. they have been in a collective slump and they need to break out. and if i see ankiel, the human fan, come up again against a lefty, i’m going to throw up….i’m disappointed in the fans here that are simply bad mouthing and bashing…it was a rough start, but this team has picked itself up all year long-only lost 2 games in a row, when carp and waino start back to back, once this year….don’t look for it to happen again…and if skip is as bad against kershaw as the article says, keep him on the bench until their vaulted bullpen gets in the game….we could use some hits against them, too!!! i still think it’s a little too early to panic….after all, this is the team that was picked to finish fourth in the DIVISION!!!!!
