The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra-popcorn equation
Post-Dispatch Classical Music
According to St. Louis Symphony Orchestra PR ace Adam Crane, the weekend’s performances of “Oz with Orchestra” at Powell Symphony Hall didn’t just sell out two-and-three-quarter performances. They also ran through 148.5 pounds of popcorn. Melissa Lange, the SLSO’s director of Patron and Subscriber Services, ordered 34 four-and-a-half pound bags; the contents of 33 were purchased and, presumeably, devoured by patrons. That’s a lot of popcorn, especially for Powell.

Of course, we must then ask how much popcorn was vacuumed afterwards….
