St. Louis Symphony Orchestra gets strong response to “Town Hall” meeting

Plan to get there early: The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra has had an overwhelming response to invitations to its “Town Hall” meeting announcing the SLSO’s 2009-2010 season.

The expectation was that the meeting — with communications director Adam Crane serving as MC to president Fred Bronstein, music director David Robertson and performers from the orchestra — would attract fewer than the 200 people the stage can comfortably hold. Instead, RSVPs are at 230 and rising.

That means that the first 200 to arrive will have seats on the stage; later arrivals will find places in the auditorium, and they’ll still be able to ask questions. Parking will be free in the nearby Grand Center lots. A reception will follow.

It was up to 350 a couple of hours ago, so arrive early if you want to sit on stage.
