St. Louis actress Tennessee-waltzes off

Magan Wiles plays Miranda in the 2005 production of "The Tempest" at Shakespeare Festival St. Louis. William Metzo plays her father, Prospero.
One of St. Louis’s most versatile young actresses, Magan Wiles, is leaving town to continue her education. Later this summer, she enters the MFA program at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
Wiles has performed with many St. Louis theaters, including the Orange Girls, Upstream and Shakespeare Festival St. Louis. Her work as a troubled high school student in “Evie’s Waltz” in the Studio series at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and as a World War I-era bride in the touching drama “Mary’s Wedding” at Echo Theatre remain particularly memorable.
Wiles has also been involved in social theater, working with Prison Performing Arts , Playback Workshop Theatre and the International Play Ground.
Wiles said she’s returning to school “to bump things up a notch. But I really want (to keep) a base in St. Louis.”
