The incredibly tall, lavishly decorated Christmas tree that dominated Muny’s production of “Annie” (June 22-30) will make an encore. It’s the centerpiece of the Christmas ball in “Meet Me in St. Louis,” which opens tonight (July 6) and runs through Sunday, July 12.
Remember, “Meet Me in St. Louis” follows the Smith family of St. Louis through many months, with a long stop in December. (This is the show that gave us the holiday standard, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Too bad the Muny isn’t also staging Paul Blake’s show, “White Christmas,” this season - they could really make the most of that tree! But they do not lack for effects. “Meet Me” concludes at the 1904 World’s Fair, with fireworks.
