St. Louis Symphony Orchestra: Another “SLSO Presents” concert announced
The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra has announced another in the 2009-2010 season’s offerings of “SLSO Presents:” “Swing, Swing, Swing,” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 9.
The program includes big band hits from from Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, and Glenn Miller. Victor Vanacore will be the guest conductor for the evening; members of the A Tall Order Dance Company will also join the orchestra for this concert.
Other “SLSO Presents” concerts already announced include “The Blue Planet Live!” conducted by Ward Stare, on September 19 and 20; “The Movie Music of John Williams,” on November 7 and 8 and “Magical Music of Disney” on January 2 and 3, both conducted by David Robertson ;and “Bugs Bunny on Broadway,” February 20 and 21, with George Daugherty on the podium.
All concerts take place at Powell Symphony Hall, 718 N. Grand Blvd.. Tickets are on sale now at $20 to $75; they can be purchased online at www.slso.org, or by phone at 314-534-1700, or in person at the box office at the hall.
