New Line Theatre has canceled the three remaining performances of “Love Kills,” its current production.

Scott Miller, artistic director of New Line and director of the musical, said that the cancellation was prompted by a death in the theater family.

A well-reviewed, disturbing musical drama based on the Charles Starkweather murder case, “Love Kills” was to have been performed Oct. 22, 23 and 24. New Line has never before canceled a show.

The performances will not be rescheduled and tickets will be refunded. Refunds will be handled through Metrotix (314-534-1111). Tickets purchased at a MetroTix outlet will be refunded at that outlet.
