Change to Win backs Obama

WASHINGTON — The Change to Win labor federation, which broke away from the AFL-CIO two years ago, Thursday endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for president. Anna Burger, who leads the federation, made the announcement in a conference call with reporters.

This continues a trend in which individual unions within Change to Win have been endorsing Obama in recent days, including the Teamsters on Wednesday. Burger’s own union, the Service Employees International Union, the federation’s largest, also has done so.

Burger cited Obama’s position on trade as well as his prospects in a general election.

This is great … let all the special interests back what will be the most extreme leftist to gain the Democratic nomination since George McGovern. I’m sure Senator McCain eagerly awaits Mr. Obama’s clinching of the nomination.

Im sure that Senator McCain would be more happier if Ms. Clinton clinched the nomination. All of the party faithful and Clinton haters would come out in droves to vote against her.
