Union backing for Obama
WASHINGTON – The United Steelworkers of America endorsed Barack Obama on Thursday, a helpful move for the Illinois Democrat whose problems drawing blue-collar support have been shown in primary after primary.
The Pittsburgh-based union had initially endorsed John Edwards, but Edwards quickly withdrew from the primaries after finding himself unable to compete with Obama and Hillary Clinton. Edwards endorsed Obama on Wednesday.
Also on Thursday, Larry Cohen, president of the Communications Workers of America, announced his support for Obama. Cohen is a super delegate and a member of the Democratic National Committee. His union remains neutral in the race between Obama and Clinton, though the 2,000 delegates at the union’s June convention will consider an endorsement.
In a statement, Cohen said that Obama “is building a broad base of support, inspiring new voters to join in the political process and demonstrating great appeal to all those who are looking for positive leadership to move us beyond politics-as-usual in Washington.”
Cohen also praised Clinton as “an excellent candidate and a staunch friend and advocate for American working men and women.”

I am convinced that Republicans are the ones who are putting Hillary Clinton over the top in the blue collar category. Republicans who have no intention of voting Democrat in the general election is voting for Clinton.
The only thing that is happening, are distortions orchestrated by the masters of distortions. In fact, the problems Democrats are having in Florida and Michigan were also orchestrated by the Republicans.
What the Republicans fail to truly understand is that all their little dirty deeds meant for evil is going to work for the good of Democrats.
Some are seeing this now by the proof of what has taken place in the Red State of Mississippi, losing out to a Democrat there. Now the Conservatives are attempting to back track by attempting to be decent even on Conservative shows with the likes of Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity. They are even putting the tape around the lips of Laura Ingrahm who is the last to get the message to be quiet with the racist non-sense. The Conservative King and leader of the pack, Newt now sees the error in being ugly and is calling for a different route, but don’t be fooled Independants, because ugly is still what is in their hearts.
