Barack Who? Got an ID., fella?

WASHINGTON _ He may be making history with a face that shows up in most papers most days and on Web sites around the world. But could it be that Barack Obama looks different in person?

The Hill, a weekly that focuses on Congress, reports that Obama breezed into the Washington Sports Club recently for a workout. Accompanied by his security detail, Obama proceeded right by the front desk, controlled by the omniscient Takhehia Wheeler.

Here, according to Wheeler, is what happened next:

Wheeler: “Sir, you need to come back.

Obama complied. Wheeler asked for his ID.

Wheeler: “What’s your last name?”

Obama: “Obama.”

Wheeler: “So what’s your first name?”

Wheeler then realized with whom she was speaking.

“Sorry, Mr. Future President,” she said.

Washington is a tough town.

If she saw McCain and asked him the same question, he probably wouldn’t remember.

Just like McCain forgot he was against torture before he voted for torture!

Just like McCain voted against Bush’s tax cuts for the “wealthiest in the country” before now when he supports the breaks!

Just like McCain supported family values before he dumped his wife who raised his kids while he was a POW, for an Arizona heiress (and a Congressional seat)!

Just like McCain was against far right wing religious zealots in 2000 when they supported Bush, and now seeks out and is proud of being endorsed by bigots who spew hatespeech against Catholics and Muslims!

McCain is a Bush clone!

And let’s not forget, if John McCain ever set foot in a gym, he’d probably drop of a heart attack, assuming his arthritis would even let him get up enough speed to exert himself.

Tim Hogan for President!

Well, Tim, at least McCain lets Muslims and blacks at his rallies and in his pictures. That bus of Obama’s is getting pretty full underneath, the latest victims are Muslims and blacks. Apparently he doesn’t want them on his campaign staff or in his family ads or in his campaign pics. Why is that?

Shameful comments Tim and Nick. I think you both need counseling to deal with your hatred.

Some points for you to think about:
* Remember that the wealthiest in the country pay way more than their fair share. The tax cuts they received helped boost our economy, and they still pay more as a percentage of their income than we do. Do you feel the same bitterness over the neighbor who drives a nicer car than you?
* McCain is going to have conflicted opinions regarding torture. Remember, he was a POW in Vietnam. Unless you experienced the same personal struggles, you cannot understand the internal conflict he much feel when considering the issue.
* As an Obama supporter, I don’t think you should bring up racist, bigoted preachers.
* You don’t know the specifics around his divorce, and it isn’t relevant. If you still support Mr. Clinton, then you have no grounds to scream about how women are treated.

Focus on the issues. If you have a gripe about a candidate’s personal life, then back it up with details and how it would affect the ability to run the country.

Washington is a tough town, and it’s only gotten tougher since Marion Berry was elected Mayor again and free nhandguns were distributed to local high schools.
