Web Watch: Is this still a primary?

Sen. Hillary Clinton announced three TV ad buys today — two in Kentucky and one in Oregon. They’re all very positive bits (posted below): upbeat music, no mention of her opponent, meant to appeal to the working class voter.

And from Sen. Barack Obama? E-mails about superdelegates and math. Oh and criticism of President Bush for his statements before Isreali lawmakers.

Hmmmm, let’s consider: Big expensive ad buys when your campaign debt is estimated at $20 million vs. e-mails and barbs at someone other than your opponent?

They’re really not in the same race anymore, are they?

Other than that, the Internet’s series of tubes seem mostly quiet on politics. YouTube and the blogosphere appear more interested in Jessica Alba and video games at the moment.

Again, a couple of Clinton’s latest ads are below. So is a clip that Obama could easily turn into a national TV spot.

When Hillary Clinton leaves the race, there will be a quiet riot among the largest, most faithful voting bloc Democrats have ever had. Women work the 2 shifts necessary to make sure our kids can go to college. Women keep families together and children safe and sound when irreparable circumstances tear at the fabric of family. On the day Hillary leaves the race, women in America - regardless of who they personally endorse for the White House - owe it to this courageous women Hillary Clinton to make our voices heard as one. Women care about health care, education, and the environment. If you are a women tired of being told by anyone to leave your dreams behind, do this for yourselves. On the day Clinton leaves the race, join in one moment of QUIET RIOT — stop working or caring for others long enough to let America know it needs to take care of YOU.

Yeah, I really want to vote for a person who thinks there are 57 states, mebbe he was tired, yep excuses, that’ll work. I’ll vote for a man who has a racist pastor who the candidate thanked for his guidance, I’ll even believe Obama didn’t know this paranoid schizo paster blamed white America for causing AIDS to get rid of black people. I’ll vote for that, yeppers. I’ll vote a man who got his senate job by backstabbing a friend, that’s REAL morals there buddy, (look that one up for details) Let’s see, I want to vote for someone who has radical friends who had a party for him when he enetered the race for president, Yeah that’s my choice. Cause I’m a stupid sheep. Obama, just cause I really want to make sure the good ol’ US is really messed up even more than it is.
I even like the sexist mass media extolling his virtues, he’s fresh, he’s new, he’s black, OH MY HE’S THE BLACK MESSIAH, THE CHOSEN ONE. Heck I’ll even go with the plan to call anyone racist if they disagree with the plan to make Obama president. It’s not racist to vote for a man just cause he is black, heck no…
You know what, I’ll go one better, I’ll call that person stupid white trailor trash who dares to have a mind and vote for anyone else!
Yeah, I’m a sheep, I’ll vote for that, cause I have no mind. It doesn’t matter anyway, It’s the US, and the popular vote doesn’t mean diddly so I might as well just go with the flow and NOT use my mind. Superdelegates, go ahead vote for Omaba, be afraid, be really really afraid, not of what this country will go to if an inexperienced, untried person with radical people surrounding him should get the presidency, be afraid of doing the right thing and voting for a real leader instead of being afraid of voting against someone because black people identify with him and OH MY, there might be a RIOT (think OJ), Yep, in America anything can happen, and lately it’s just been all bad.
The wars (remember Iraq and Afghanistan? White and black soldiers have been getting killed there), prices, jobs, college being unaffordable, gas, you know, the stuff you REALLY want an inexperienced person to handle.
I’d hire THAT guy to head my company. Heck, it’s just a country he would be the commander in chief of, how hard can THAT be? How messed up COULD he make it? (think Bush/Cheney)
Did I mention it doesn’t matter anyway cause my vote doesn’t count? SUPERDELEGATES, YOU GO (away…)

How sad that American Democrats are blinded by the glib, empty rhetoric of Barack Obama. I would have liked to have believed that we had learned our lesson - that putting blind faith in an untested, inexperienced senator with less than 3 years of service to our government would be so popular. I am deeply distressed at the thought that Hillary Clinton, who has served this country well for more than 15 years, would be upstaged by a slick campaign staged by as political a machine that ever existed. We will surely lose the White House if we put this politican up against a far more experienced figure like John McCain. Hillary Clinton is our best hope for a Democratic president - and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that Obama is just what the Republicans want - an easy defeat.

Thank you all for sharing your hatred and ignorqance. You serve your racist, corporatist masters well.

Why don’t you yappers take down Slick Johnny Mc for actively courting and announcing the support of his anti-Catholic supporter Pastor John Hagee who calls the Catholic Church the “Whore of babylon,” a “false cult system,” and the “anti christ.” and blames the Catholic Church for the Holocaust.

Oh, and Slick Johnny Mc has another pastor supporting him, Rod Parsley, who claims; “Islam is the devil!”

My family DID NOT support Rev. Jesse Jackson or Rev. Al Sharpton in their bids for the White House. I DO NOT believe that Tupac was the second coming. I DO believe that OJ Simpson was guilty and that Michael Vic deserved whatever came his way. Yes, I even think that Wesley Snipes should have just paid his taxes. I believe the DC snipers deserved the death penalty.

Yet, I am Black and I am supporting Sen. Obama. I do believe he is the BEST candidate for the job. I believe a vote for Sen. Clinton or Sen. McCain would be a continuation of the status quo of inane domestic and foriegn U. S. policies.

Yes, I am Black AND I am capable of thinking for myself. Contrary to popular belief, WE DO NOT ALL THINK OR VOTE ALIKE.

Is This Still A Primary?
It’s hard to say. It feels like the election should already have been over by now. I lived through several election campaigns and have never seen anything to compare with this one. It has gone on so long that they are beginning to sound like wind-up dolls. Just turn the key , pull the string, and listen to the same speech you heard yesterday, 2 months ago, or a year ago. Everything is old and stale already. I am just so tired of it. There is nothing else they could say that would persuade me to vote for any of the three. I will write in someone. This is the worst group of candidates and the thought that one of them will be our president sends a chill through me. I hope the powers that be of both parties have learned that 2 year campaigns and mostly ignoring their day job isn’t making a difference. I never understood how this campaign got started so early anyway.
