Web Watch: Obituaries for the Clinton Campaign?
Peruse the front pages of today’s major newspapers and it’s pretty clear: Folks are on deathwatch for the presidential campaign of Sen. Hillary Clinton.
NYT this morning reports of the growing sense of inevitability that Sen. Barack Obama has this one sewn up. Other outlets note Clinton’s campaign cash crunch (alliteration intended). The Chicago Sun Times — which has that hometown bias – ran part of its editorial on the front page with a large illustration and nuclear bomb headline: “Hillary…Give it up.”
The jubilant e-mails that once flowed regularly from the Clinton campaign to reporters’ inboxes are now slacking. Clinton has vowed to stay in the race until there’s a nominee, but its telling perhaps to note that yesterday while she was barnstorming and fundraising, Obama was taking a day off in Chicago.
Here’s a CBS news report that happens to be one of the hotter clips on YouTube:

As against thees bleak news,Gallup says that even now Hillary is almost evenly matched with Obama in popular vote.Another significant Gallup finding is Obama has as much white support as did Kerry in 2004.
