THE GOOD LIFE: Our town’s prominent art connoisseur, vineyard owner and ultra-successful businessman, Donald L. Bryant Jr., 66, was married over the weekend to Bettina Sulser, a former ballerina and currently curator of Bryant’s art collection, among others.
The couple enjoyed a California-style wedding - not blue jeans but not buttoned-down either — at Bryant’s vineyard in St. Helena, Calif., in a meadow on a hilltop overlooking Lake Hennessey in Napa County.
Shusler wore a strapless white gown with a flowing train that drew ooh’s and aah’s from the crowd of some 150 or so friends, relatives and colleagues who were gathered for the occasion. A dinner reception and dancing at the Bryant Family Vineyard followed the afternoon wedding.
Guests enjoyed the fine Bryant wines - some in the neighborhood of $350 a bottle - with their multi-course meal. Donald and Barbara Bryant, who have three children, Derek, Christina and Justin, were divorced here in 2007. While Barbara has not remarried, she is rumored to have a companion of her own … a certain Jack Taylor of Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
