KNOWING THEIR ABC’S: Look for Joe Buck to emcee this year’s Kidsmart-Tools for Learning celebrity spelling bee on May 7 at the Pageant on Delmar Boulevard.

Other celebs who will participate include Shimmy Gray-Miller, SLU Women’s Basketball coach; musician Ralph Butler; NFL Hall of Famer Roger Wehrli, the Rams’ Marc Bulger and Gus Frerotte; KSDK’s Cordell Whitlock; and Julie Buck of MY (103.3-FM).

Depending on the outcome of the Blues playoff results, Eric Brewer and Keith Tkachuk may also attend. The event, in its fifth year, is the “2009 Back to School with Joe Buck Celebrity Bee.”

The year’s main sponsor is Emerson, with other top sponsors including Delta Dental, AAA, Ameren, Purina, Monsanto, Silver Dollar City, National City and Citi. Jennifer Miller is KidSmart prez.

My money is on Cordell Whitlock.

UndergroundMensch, if I had a dollar for every nitpicking post about spelling, grammar, etc. Get over it. People make errors. (Actually today on KMOV they had ERROOR MESSAGE on one of their graphics.)

It just occurred to me…is Cordell Whitlock related to Jason Whitlock, sportswriter for the Kansas City Star?

Jason scored a few years ago with some excellent articles on the Don Imus/Rutgers University women’s basketball team controversy.
