U.S. Rep. William “Lacy” Clay and Ivie to split
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
SEPARATE MAIL: U.S. Rep. William “Lacy” Clay, D-St. Louis, has filed for divorce from his wife, Ivie Lewellen Clay, according to court filings cited in the Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
Ivie Clay is the communications and marketing director for the St. Louis Development Corp. The Clays have been married since 1993.
They have two children: Carol and William L. Clay III. In 2001, the American Family Coalition of Missouri named the Clays “Parents of the Year in Missouri.”

guess democrats can’t do anything right
This is very unfortunate for any family. I wish them the best. Politicians are people too, we should be kind.
After that stunt Lacy pulled a few years ago and some of the other things he’s done I would say it’s about time.
Who cares??????????
I doubt whether we even agree on the time of day, but I am sorry to hear this news and wish the best for all involved.
Missouri Lawyers Weekly is a complete gossipy garbage rag. They can’t even keep decent staff at the publication because of their lack of reporting abilities & unqualified management. No one in the legal industry even respects nor reads the paper, shame on the PD for relaying on a subpar publication for their newstories.
I agree… who cares? I guess she won’t be going on any more overseas trips with him (check out the trips to Hawaii and China on opensecrets.org, under travel). And, what does the St. Louis Development Corp. actually do? Are they working on Ballpark Village? Heckofa job!
Rep Clay is Catholic, he can’t get divorced. Until death do you part…
I also agree, WHO CARES
Not essential information -
…but since it was reported, I will chime in with both “good” and “who cares”…
Ivie,
Can you say 1/2? I hope so because you gone get it girl! Smile all the way to the bank without the abuse from this gutter rat that you and your children have had to endure for all of these years. You deserve better and so does Missouri. Anybody else for Missouri’s District 1! Anybody but Lacy Clay gets my vote.
