This is very unfortunate for any family. I wish them the best. Politicians are people too, we should be kind.

After that stunt Lacy pulled a few years ago and some of the other things he’s done I would say it’s about time.

I doubt whether we even agree on the time of day, but I am sorry to hear this news and wish the best for all involved.

Missouri Lawyers Weekly is a complete gossipy garbage rag. They can’t even keep decent staff at the publication because of their lack of reporting abilities & unqualified management. No one in the legal industry even respects nor reads the paper, shame on the PD for relaying on a subpar publication for their newstories.

I agree… who cares? I guess she won’t be going on any more overseas trips with him (check out the trips to Hawaii and China on opensecrets.org, under travel). And, what does the St. Louis Development Corp. actually do? Are they working on Ballpark Village? Heckofa job!

Rep Clay is Catholic, he can’t get divorced. Until death do you part…

I also agree, WHO CARES

Not essential information -
…but since it was reported, I will chime in with both “good” and “who cares”…

Ivie,

Can you say 1/2? I hope so because you gone get it girl! Smile all the way to the bank without the abuse from this gutter rat that you and your children have had to endure for all of these years. You deserve better and so does Missouri. Anybody else for Missouri’s District 1! Anybody but Lacy Clay gets my vote.

You should care! You should care the type of low life you’ve elected. I Heard he wants to run for the Senate. I hope he gets his ass kicked and his ghetto sister too! Carnahan For Senate.

I’m told he is leaving his wife for another woman. What an awful man. So much for his Catholic faith. He will no longer get my vote.

and of course, “spacy” you’re perfect! So, what you’re saying is republicans don’t get divorced?? here do you get your information from? bottom line is, this is a horrible thing to happen to any family and I hope it never happens to you.

When the House convened on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in 2004, inquiring as to why these organizations were seemingly so out of control, actually ATTEMPTING to regulate these government agencies (what the Democrats supposedly ‘desire’ so much), Representative Clay inferred that the whistle blowers were racists - an absolutely disgusting political move…especially in light of how that debacle started to sink our economy last October.

I’m sorry that anybody gets divorced.

I’m sorry that the Clays are getting divorced.

….but in light of how he’s behaved as a politician, I’m hard pressed to feel sorry for the man…

Don’t feel sorry for Congressman Clay at all. The lowdown dog didn’t even tell his wife and kids. They were blindsided by this yesterday. The kids found out from their friends late last night. Feel sorry for his wife and kids.

You call yourself a man and our congressman… You are a low down bastard… How could you leave your wife and kids of 17 years… I guess you got to DC and they weren’t good enough for you anymore… Well you know what… My vote is not good enough for your ass…. I hope you find another job to support Ivie and the Kids……

How could you do this to your family. Your family should have been first before any job. You went up to DC and now they are not good enough for you. They were fine when you were a little old state senator but now they aren’t since you stepped up….. bastard…..

Parent of the Year! Parent of the Year! Who’d Lacy screw to get that award. He is the biggest deadbeat dad around. When’s the last time you’ve seen him with his kids and it wasn’t election year!

The Congressman is a COWARD. He didn’t even have the guts to let his wife and kids know what he had done and saw them Thursday. His wife and kids were blindsided and only found out after a friend saw this article on the internet. Can you imagine the kind of therapy( paid by our tax dollars) his children will need?

I just want to know who plans to run against him in 2010 so I can give a sizable donation. I hope it is a strong woman. Hey Ivie, you should run since you are and have always been so much smarter than him. Let’s elect the Smart Clay! Ivie Clay for Congress 2010.

Really?? I’ve only seen old ladies, cousins and his tramp ass sister at the headquarters. Which one? Let’s hope he’s not keeping it “All in the Family.”

Sure hope she loves him when Ivie ends up with half his retirement, half his land and property, half his 401K. You’d think he’d learn from Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford.

I have met Ivie and worked with Ivie in a service organization. She is so classy and has so much culture. She is from a good. I often wondered how she ever came in contact with Lacy and his ignorant family. They are such low lives and so rough and ghetto.

Ivie, hang in there. It will get easier every day. I have prayed for you and I know that you will meet someone who will be a good husband and even better father to William Clay III and Mina than his own rotten father.

Ivie Clay works for the St. Louis Development Corp., the poster child for eminent domain abuse.

Rep. William Lacy Clay has co-sponsored HR 1885, introduced by Rep. Maxine Waters, which will end eminent domain abuse.

Does Rep. Clay really oppose eminent domain abuse, or did he co-sponsor HR 1885 just to score some points with the voters, knowing it will never get through the House and Senate, and if it does President Obamam will veto it?

You are reading and commenting on a bit in the P-D Gossip column, yet you trash Missouri Lawyer’s Weekly as a gossipy garbage rag? Interesting.

Wait, stop the presses. Clay is Cathlolic? Is that the same Catholic as Claire McCaskill? Aren’t they pro-choice, anti-life? How can that be?
Why do these people put their public careers over their spiritual lives?

He’d sell his soul for a vote. Why do we keep electing this man? He has no morals. He is not a good role model. If anyone knows who plans to run against him in 2010, let me know. I plan to volunteer for him or her.

It is very sad that some people revel over other people’s pain… what happened to kindness… if you know Lacy Clay, than you have to know that he loves his children more than anything, AND that he is and always has been a great dad - this really is a private family matter
