MARVELOUS IN MEXICO: The wedding of our town’s Damon Johnson and Adhar Usher in Adhar’s beautiful hometown of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, is featured on the wedding blog, “Style Me Pretty.”

Adhar, who is in PR with Tom Carnahan’s Wind Capital Group, said she was excited to have her wedding featured on the blog, which, she added, she visited every day before her wedding a couple months ago “for ideas and inspiration.” Blog operator Abby Larson describes the site as “a chic blog for the style obsessed bride.”

Damon worked at Alive mag for about three years and left there shortly before the wedding. He has begun his own career counseling business.

The couple met five years ago after college graduation. He attended Miami University of Ohio while Adhar was a student at the U. of Missouri. Damon says on the wedding blog that during his senior year in college he head stories from his high school best friend about a beautiful, independent free-spirited girl who turned out to be Adhar.

While the fab pictures on the site by Margaret Singer highlight Damon and Adhar’s attractiveness and high spirits, they don’t show us who all was there from the Lou. We’re told the guest list included the likes of Katherine and Marc Lazar, Sam Foxman and Alison Sieloff, Megan Christie, Cheresse Pentella, Elizabeth Tucker, Steph Cervantes, Melissa Payne and Greg Bolhmann.

Who cares…really, except for people who know them.

Yes, the wedding photos are pretty, but so are a lot of wedding photos I’ve seen.

Does anyone REALLY care what this columnist writes?

Wow! This is truly earth-shattering news. The P-D today actually printed in their newspaper that Tom Carnahan owns a windfarm company that will greatly benefit from Russ’s climate change vote. Funny how this appeared in a “society” column.

centrist: how do you know that tom carnahan will benefit from his brother’s climate change vote? does it really say that somewhere in here or are you perhaps making that up? i certainly don’t know that to be factual and did not write anything like that. also, people who don’t want to read about others in our community certainly don’t have to. and yes, jim, there are people who REALLY care about what i write.

I’m not understanding all the vitriol regarding a society mention?! Isn’t it enough to be happy for two adorable people who’ve committed themselves to each other (and in such a lovely way)? Isn’t this reason to celebrate? And they got national attention to boot. One would think St. Louisans would be overjoyed.

I think Deb’s column is great – its fab to have a place to read about whats happening around town and to hear what the influencers of our town are up to. Damon and Adhar seem to be doing great things. Cheers to them and CONGRATULATIONS!

I can’t believe hwo some people are taking this blog post. I look at it as good that our fellow ST Louisans are getting some recognition for positivie things. People look at Missouri as backward and full of hicks. Stories like this might prove those naysayers wrong.

I saw some of the beautiful pictures from their wedding on the blog. Absolutely beautiful. I did want to share a funny link I found from another bride-to-be on seven lessons she learned about marriage. It’s a nice read for anyone who is already married or just considering it: http://thestimulist.com/lessons-learned-between-to-do-and-i-do/
