TIME FOR TURNER: Ali Turner of Cape Girardeau made it into the top five today in the Victoria’s Secret model competition leading up to a Dec. 1 fashion show that will be nationally televised on CBS.

Turner, who is using her full name, Allison, in the competition, made the cut from 10 girls who competed last week in Angel Boot Camp. She appears with the other contestants in weekly webisodes, which are web-only videos.

Last Monday, the public began voting for their favorite contestants. Voting continues this week. The winner will get $5,000 in Victoria’s Secret gift cards and be able to saunter and prance down the catwalk at the nationally televised fashion show with such Victoria’s Secret angel faves as Adriana Lima and Doutzen Kroes. Heidi Klum will host the show.

Turner, who has been modeling since she was 15, models locally for Sharon Tucci’s Centro agency. She formerly modeled for the Ford agency in New York.

To get to this point, Turner was culled from tens of thousands of girls who applied across the country. After trying out in Chicago, Turner was flown to NYC to join 9 other want-to-be angels for photo sessions, national media interviews and the chance to get tips from the top angels.

Turner stands out in the competition with her professional demeanor, willowy body (5′10″ with a 24-inch waist) and a unique background that includes a turn as a professional barrel racer (something you do on a horse).
