Jenna Fischer to chair major fundraiser for her alma mater, Nerinx Hall high school
FISCHER HOOKED: Nerinx Hall has tapped one of its own - who just happens to be one of the country’s hottest actresses — to chair this year’s AuctioNerinx, the school’s main fundraiser.
Jenna Fischer of “The Office,” a Nerinx class of 1991 grad, will chair the auction with Gina Baruzzini-Augsburger and Rita Switzer. The event is scheduled for March 13 at the Sheraton Westport-Chalet.
Baruzzini-Augsburger is married to Dave Augsburger of Fenton and they are the parents of a senior at Nerinx and a daughter who graduated a few years ago; Switzer is married to Erv Switzer and their daughter is a junior. Nerinx is located at 530 East Lockwood Avenue in Webster Groves.
School fundraisers say Fischer has “dreamed of being a chair of the auction since she graduated from Nerinx.”
They said that when Fischer was a student at Nerinx, the late Mary Frann (known as Mary Frances Luecke to her 1961 graduating class) who played Bob Newhart’s wife on the Bob Newhart show, chaired the auction.
Fischer was inspired by Frann’s dedication and commitment to Nerinx and decided then that she wanted to follow in the actress’s footsteps.
To make sure that she does the job right, Fischer has been busy working on soliciting unique items for the auction, especially items from the All-Star Game (in which she participated in the celebrity portion) and The Office. She’s also got a table reserved for her family and friends.

Great scoop: B list actress hosts an auction for a second tier private high school. Yawn.
I wonder if the carpet matches the drapes.
Never heard of Jenna Fischer. She kind of looks like Sharon Peters, a girlfriend of mine in high school. Sharon had really smelly feet. I bet Fischer’s feet stink too.
I love Jenna Fischer! I think it’s cool that she takes the time to come back to her roots.
Wow, so sick of the BS from all of these OBNOXIOUS people commenting on here.
Jenna Fischer, the Long Island Lolita, is from St. Louis and went to Nerinx Hall. Wow! I did not know that. Jenna is an interesting public figure because of her affair with Joey Buttafuoco, but why would Nerinx use her to raise funds? She had an affair with Joey and then maimed his wife with a gunshot to the face. There has to be a better rold model who can help out.
Dear Tim Chapman:
You must be an idiot. Or moron. Or both.
The Long Island Lolita is AMY Fisher. No Jenna. No “c” either.
And to think some self induldged and self important people at the Post Dispatch banned me from commenting on stories, never giving a reason why they banned me (Ok, I criticized the staff for a lot of mistakes they made, but hey, I used to work down the street at their competitor) - but they let idiots like Tim Chapman post dumb stuff like this?
Wow. I shouldn’t be surprised. The dumbing down of America continues.
What is wrong with you? Why post rude comments on someone you don’t even know? She’s guitly of coming to her school to raise money?
Grow up, you must be bitter and jealous to say such crude things.
Jealous is right. Some people only find pleasure in putting down the successes of others. Pity.
Saw her on the Tonight show a few years ago. Boy did she get a kick out of making fun of Missourians, especially those who vacation at the Lake of the Ozarks.Basically said those types are a bunch of yahoos. What a snobby b-list ‘actress’. Make it while you can,Jenna. With your talent, you won’t be in the business long.Maybe after you get your nose out of the clouds and ‘The Office’ is off the air,you could lower youself to vacation with the rest of us ‘rubes’ here in Missouri.
I’m always completely amazed at the incredibly rude comments that readers of the Post Dispatch feel the need to share with other readers.
As a graduate of Nerinx Hall (which is widely considered of the best private, all-girls schools in St. Louis), I’m incredibly excited and impressed that Nerinx was able to recruit Jenna Fischer to chair AuctioNerinx this year. I know that Fischer’s presence has motivated me to attend this major fundraising event, and I know that it will motivate many other young alumna as well.
I’m excited for the event, and I wish Fischer and her co-chairs much luck in their planning!
