The answer to this is a little surprising. I didn’t expect this type of shoe from Cate Blanchett. But maybe all that time playing a queen caused her to rebel. The answer is B.

I remember recently being asked how, in light of the downward turn in the economy, my fashionable spending habits had changed. I replied not at all. If, poor ol’ me, hasn’t changed, I can only image the costs of these shoes which you have highlighted recently. Do you have an idea as to what they cost or by whom they are designed?

Shoe pictures are easy to find. Shoe identities, not so much.

I’d need a shoe sleuth to identify the makers and sellers. I wondered about that myself though. Star shoes are so important to their ensembles — the cherry on the sundae so to speak — that I can’t imagine any of them are purchasing low priced non-name brands.

But if anyone does find out the details on any of the shoes, do share the info and I promise to do the same.

Despite my exhaustive search, I could not find these wedgies or their pricetag - but in the effort, I enjoyed perusing Jimmy Choo’s and Pierre Hardy’s web sites. During the web search, I also learned that handbags (specifically, the “It-Bag” phenomenon) are yesterday’s fetish. Shoes have once again resumed their supremacy on the must-have-it lists of fashionistas everywhere.

There’s also a lot of chatter about an $11,000 pair of shoes Cate sported this fall. If you care (and I acknowledge that a whole lot of you who like to wag your fingers at us who enjoy the lifestyle page don’t care, so spare me the lecture), Google “Cate Blanchette shoes” and several links, with photos of those blingy-est of blingy pumps, are listed.
