I don’t see any lonely supermodels
So I wonder what to make of the news from Jennifer Aubrey, an assistant professor of communication, who found that men (if you can call 18- to 23-year-old college guys men) were intimidated by highly attractive females.
To be exact, it made them feel self-conscious about their own bodies, which is something that seems to be lacking in the “typical male” who expects perfection from women, but not from themselves.
What’s interesting is the fact that the men, were not intimidated by other highly attractive men in magazines. Aubrey is validating her findings, but it was easy for most guys to assume that the attractive men were gay and therefore, not a threat. Does anyone else see the twisted logic here?
