If you’re planning to buy a 2009 Pin-up Girl calendar commissioned by the Pin-Up Bowl, be quick. The stock is going fast on Amazon.com for $12.99.

When we checked last there were only four left and more on the way, but maybe not before Christmas.

The calendar was launched at a party at the iconic St. Louis bowling center and lounge on Delmar Boulevard just a week ago, but has been on the market for a few months. It’s a play on the vintage pin-up girls who covered more than they showed, and were considered scandalous for it.

It’s ironic that back in the 50s owning this type of calendar would have gotten one labeled the biggest of perverts. But today a guy with a calendar of mostly-clothed cuties with huge cheesecake smiles would probably be labeled a gentleman.

The images are tame by today’s standards which makes the calendar all the more refreshing and sweet. And the beauties are all local girls with a good sense of humor and a healthy dose of charm.
