Unfortunate name shame at Stuart Weitzman
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Love the shoes, really I do, but wonder how the Stuart Weitzman fall advertising campaign decided to feature high-heeled, thigh high boots in black suede with a stacked platform called “the hiho.”
Hi, ho? You’d think they’d want to get further way from the hooker implication, not closer. I hope it’s a reference to pirates or something. But still. This might edge out the real leather pumps by Ellen Tracy called PETA, as the biggest fashion naming faux pas.

A wayward soul from Las Vegas, Nevada, who now calls St. Louis home and believes that fashion is relative and capricious, but style is always in favor.
Why such narrow-minded evaluation?! Prostitution has nothing to do with the looks. Stuart Weitzman elegantly presents as well as delivers a quality and attractive design. Not a remote ‘hooker’ implication–beauty, comfort, versatility and grace.
Good point, Long live stilettos, but I can’t say that I’m above having a juvenile sense of humor. If I had leg grand enough to squeeze into those lovely boots, I would, but I’d still be giggling about the name.
No dress required! Hotness to death honey…
