Legs, legs, legs trend continues on fashion week catwalk
The second night of St. Louis Fashion Week was dedicated to four contemporary boutiques for women who are looking for the same brands photographed on the stars and others that soon will be.
The quartet hosted a fashion display that had all to do with igniting a spark in mainstream wardrobes.
You don’t have to hire a stylist to look like you’re ready for the paparazzi.
The retailers are looking to stock their shelves with gotta-have-it items in a range of prices that will be so enticing that customers won’t wait for a sale.
And relatively inexpensive items such as leg wear are a great alternative to a new dress, but you might decide that you want both.
So the wardrobe basics took a backseat and the shops brought out the items they order in limited quantities — sometimes only one per size.
So you’ll have to get ‘em before they’re gone.
The parade of ready-to-wear ensembles hailed from Ivy Hill (304 North Euclid Avenue, Central West End), Mary Jane’s (387 North Euclid Avenue), Valerie Mills (139 Carondelet Plaza, Clayton) and Byrd Style Lounge (8117 Maryland Avenue, Clayton).
The styles were largely urban chic with a little sparkle and a lot of attitude.
And just in case there’s any dispute, legs are in this fall and by that I mean tights, thigh high socks, patterned stocking and dresses … lots and lots of dresses. It’s just what makes girls happy and now’s the perfect time for some retail therapy to thwart those winter blues.
Pants were few and far between, but a few looks did grace the runways. However, not enough to be distracting.
