Miss Cougar Cruise: a different safari

There’s still time to book your cabin and hire a personal trainer before the “world’s first International cougar cruise”.

This sounds much different than a regular cruise in that the older people expect to trap some young folk on board.

If you need a pep talk, check out my column on the surprising array of Hollywood babes who turned 40 this year.

And for the record, the cruise organizers assure that adults of all ages are welcome (which kinda defeats the purpose in my opinion, but that whole politically correct thing is so popular).

However, the trip is geared toward younger men and older women, of course. The Carnival Cruise departs from San Diego en route to Ensenada, Mexico from December 4 to 7.

The 3-day getaway is co-sponsored by The Singles Travel Company and The Society of Single Professionals. The guest of honor will be Miss Cougar America Gloria Navarro, a 42-year-old divorcee, who was crowned top cougar in September.

Miss Cougar California will be crowned at the California Cougar Convention on Nov. 6 at the Crowne Plaza in Beverly Hills and she will also be a guest on the cruise. The convention is sponsored by www.iCougarDating.com (aren’t you sad that you weren’t cyber-squattng on that name).

And I know, you’re wondering who these people are who go to the conventions and what do these ladies look like. Well, head to the San Francisco Chronicle’ gallery of images for it’s Miss Cougar story.
