Underwear guru Andrew Christian is looking for a new face (and butt and torso and …) for his purposefully provocative and frequently camp advertising campaign for 2010.

Christian will be making stops throughout the middle states of America. He stared in September with a trip to Detroit and he arrives here in St. Louis on Saturday (Oct. 24) to access the local talent.

The festivities begin at Boxers, 1305 Washington Avenue, with a trunk show from 2 to 4 p.m. Meet and greet Christian, who some of you may remember as a contestant from “The Fashion Show”, that reality television attempt to replace “Project Runway” on Bravo TV.

Sadly, Christian was dismissed pretty early in the season. He said he would continue attempts at launching a clothing line, but until then he seems happy designing the foundation we wear under out clothes.

The model competition will take place at Erney’s 32, 4200 Manchester Avenue and the event is sponsored in part by Vital Voice.

The model search will take place from 9 to 10:30 p.m. The fashion show commences at midnight.

Potential models should sign up at the venue in advance, but there will still be opportunities for those who arrive that evening.

When Christian arrives, contestants will have to model a selection from his underwear line (of course) and then undergo a few physical and mental tests to see if they have what it takes to be a national underwear model, according to a press release from Andrew Christian.

Will there be a geography test, I wonder?

A debate of existentialism vs. determinism?

The audience at each venue will help Andrew judge the contestants. Each individual city winner from his nine stop tour will then receive a $200 gift certificate to AndrewChristian.com and is entered into the finals, which will take place early next year. The winner of the finals will have an opportunity to star in a photo shoot with Andrew in Los Angeles.

“There are so many potentially hot models out there, especially in cities that aren’t big, and if given the chance, they could be as good, if not better, than those polished Hollywood models,” Christian said in a press release. “I am tired of … getting the same type of model, I want something else, something different.”
