Wholesome fun competes with 7 deadly sins

Well, your soul may not swing in the balance and we certainly won’t be making any judgment calls, but as we approach All Hallows Eve, a curious contrast of events are in the works.
Among them are the Not-So-Haunted House featuring storybook characters from “Harry Potter,” “Peter Pan” and “The Wizard of Oz” … and the Seven Deadly Sins Fashion Show.
Though both events are today (Oct. 30), I doubt there will be too many folks grappling with a entertainment dilemma.
Although, I could see the opportunity of getting twice the mileage out of your Tinker Bell costume ($51.99 at Target.com)
The Not-So-Haunted House begins today but continues through Nov. 1 at The Magic House, 516 South Kirkwood Road and it’s free with the regular $8.50 admission (tonight kids get in free with costumes).
And then there’s the Seven Deadly Sins Fashion Show, which will showcase 10 fashion designers, who will each create a seven-piece collection addressing a theme of their choosing.
In addition, seven local artists will present one model and a framed work of art. The challenge will be depicting one of the seven deadly sins. Their creations will be judged via silent ballot by the audience. The winner will receive a cash prize.
It will take place tonight at 7 p.m. at the Grandel Theatre, 3610 Grandel Square. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets are available online at www.fashionfr8.com.
And if all that doesn’t quite inspire you to leave the house. You can still make use of your time by browsing the Virgins, Saints and Angels online trunk show. It might be the perfect double-edged delight.

There’s certainly something a beguiling about the Virgins, Saints and Angels jewelry constructed with authentic Vatican medallions.
We don’t know if that means the jewelry is blessed or not….
But if teen stars who have been known to pose nude are among the fans of the jewelry, then we’re pretty sure you don’t have to be a saint to wear it.
At left, one of the Magdelena Cross necklaces in gold with black crystals and gem stones, $210.
You can shop the Virgins, Saints and Angels collection which includes necklaces, pendants, cuff bracelets and belt buckles in the store or online at www.ylang23.com

A wayward soul from Las Vegas, Nevada, who now calls St. Louis home and believes that fashion is relative and capricious, but style is always in favor.
The Virgins, Saints and Angels jewelry line is quite lovely, however I´d never purchase it due to the unfair wages and labor conditions they subject their employees to. Such a shame.
