Aretha Franklin wore her church hat

I wouldn’t want to be sitting behind her during Barack Obama’s inauguration, but from the front it’s awfully sweet. However, I’m biased. I say that as the granddaughter of a lovely Louisiana woman who would have said that the look is very “sharp” and you don’t argue with grandma.

Ms Franklin aka “The Queen of Soul”, was in fine fashion today. I am grateful that she was on this fine day, for she has not always been “in fashion”…

the hat is over the top.

It’s the voice that should take center stage.

I love Aretha Franklin

That hat…wow.
It’s the P-I-T-S!
Her performance wasn’t so hot either.

She looked adorable (and warm)!! LOVED the hat. Of course she wore her Sunday best, she was singing for the “President of the United States of Love!!” I mean of America!! LOL Seriously I LOVE the hat and her. Maybe neat hats like that will now come back in fashion. On another note though, I was not real thrilled with Mrs. Obama’s outfit.

Thats the dumbest looking hat I have ever seen. Aretha’s hat looks funny too.

As a fan of Aretha, I’m not at all a fan of that hat. I love women in hats, but that looked like someone had altered some jeans and made a big ugly bow of it and slapped it on her head.

What a shame it wasn’t more classy.

I think Aretha looked great. She wasn’t busting out all over and did justice to “My Country Tis of Thee.” That hat was very impressive in my opinion.

LOVED her hat! The whole outfit was great, she looked the best of everbody there. And warm. Anybody with sense should have had on some kind of hat.

OMG…did that come off the set of Sanford & Son? It must have been Aunt Esters hat.
