Finally, a splash of pattern

1vanessa.JPGThis one-shouldered bejeweled gown from Kevin Hall leaps off the red carpet by avoiding the typical monochromatic flowing formals. I always wonder why there aren’t more patterns on the red carpet when it comes to floor-length gowns. With all that real estate, it’s hard to believe that more celebrities don’t capitalize on a dramatic print. This over-sized floral number on Vanessa Williams of Ugly Betty has the razzle and dazzle and simplicity that keeps it from looking busy and it’s just drop dead gorgeous. This is just really flattering and the ruching actually makes it the kind of dress that would also be as attractive on a regular figure.

I will always love you V dub, but what the hell is draped over your left shoulder?
