Dillard’s declares it’s own Fashion Week
All the cool kids are doing it, so why not the local retailer. Dillard’s is promoting it’s own version of Fashion Week, sans the runway mania, but full of stylish interpretations of what’s hot. Dillard’s folk are working hard to change the perception that the store caters to an older shopper who is not as hip. And with lines like BCBG and Michael Kors, they are making a very strong case. Even Barney’s creative director Simon Doonan commented on the well-priced Emilio Pucci shoes during his visit, “There’s your plug,” he said with a laugh as he went on to plug his latest book, “Eccentrically Glamorous.”
Dillard’s Department Store previews it’s top picks for Spring 2008 trend and style at “Fashion Week,” a women-focused, weeklong tribute to fashion April 20 through 26 at all Midwest locations.
From empire waistlines to A-lines and shifts, Dillard’s is positioning itself as the place to shop for any fashionista who’s been watching runway dress silhouettes.
To add to the fun, Dillard’s will be offering a variety of gifts with purchases and drawings for prizes and gift card incentives. It’s surely worth a visit to see what all the fuss is about.
