Should guys go bald boldly or not at all?
A truly bald head doesn’t usually just happen, it’s a choice.
And though not every bare scalp looks as attractive as some of Hollywood’s sexiest (Hello, Vin Diesel), there’s now a new tool to make the process a little safer.
I have to admit that I’m a little fascinated by the smooth bald look. But just when I see Taye Diggs and think bald is a glorious thing, I see Ron Howard and I think … scary.
Yet there’s just something about a too-cool-for-hair bald look that tends to command attention.
However, I realize that not everyone loves a baldie.
HeadBlade was saluted by Time magazine in 2000 as a top invention of the year and since then it’s been included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
I think it looks like a kids race car and even the information video seems to highlight the play factor, so I’d be amused to see a grown man running this over his scalp. However, it looks safer than a conventional razor.
Although one of the reviews on Amazon.com was a little disturbing. The user wrote: “95% of the time it worked great…it’s the other 5% that was hard to take. If you have a perfectly round head, you should be okay. But, if you have any scars, mesquito [sic] bits, etc., lookout! …because the headblade will remove them and it is quite messy and it hurts!” But of 22 reviews the average rating is a very favorable 4 out of 5.
Howie Mandel (not one of my favorite baldies) and Michael Chiklis (pictured) are said to be devoted users of the HeadBlade Sport, according to the company. The shaving system is available online at www.headblade.com and at a wide range of stores listed on the website.
The $15 shaver designed by Todd Greene measures less than two-and-a-half inches long, and has a three-finger control pod with a hook that wraps around the middle finger.
The design allows users to simply sweep their scalp with a gliding motion, like running a hand through their hair.
Oops, I mean, the hair that’s left. Well, the … OK, you get the idea.

I am a big fan of Headblade. If you want to be in with the celebs, especially for those of us with receeding hairlines, have have to go with a razor solution. This one is better than a typical gillette razor in my opinion… http://www.wildmanproduction.com/headblade.html
