Third Annual Fashion for a Cause, June 12

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

I don’t know about you but feel good fashion is my favorite, especially when the feeling comes from doing something to benefit more than your admirers. The Third Annual Fashion for a Cause offers unique clothes from local boutiques , wine tasting and appetizers, and a silent auction.

Courtney Gene, Marta’s, Pulse, and Blush boutiques will be provide the clothes for poolside show. Other vendors include Strasburg Children, Susan Lynn’s and Vie. The food will be courtesy of Yia Yia’s, while the wine tasting will be coordinated by Vintner’s Cellar.

The cause at hand is Friends of Kids with Cancer, a non-profit organization founded in 1992 that helps enrich the lives of kids battling the disease through educational, motivational, and therapeutic programs. Friends brightens the lives of kids with games, tickets, toys and much more to ease the illness and isolation of extensive chemotherapy.

The models will include two young adults that are cancer survivors, Rachel Baumgartner and Julia Gold. Both former Friends will be strolling down the runway with two children that are currently in treatment.

The event is being put on by Baxter Crossings Apartments, 975 Westmeade Drive, Chesterfield where the show will be taking place. Did I mention that this would be poolside.

Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the silent auction and fashion show. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, reservations are preferred.
