Leshoure’s jaw broken in incident with teammate
Illinois freshman Mikel Leshoure suffered a broken jaw Saturday night during an incident that involved an unnamed teammate, an athletics department official said.
Coach Ron Zook, who learned of the incident Sunday, is expected to release a statement this afternoon. The police were not contacted. Coach Ron Zook said the situation has been investigated and any punishment will be handled internally.
Leshoure has played in all nine games, rushing for 126 tyards and scoring one touchdown. He had 11 yards on five carries Saturday afternoon against Iowa.
