Illinois senior guard Chester Frazier has been classified as doubtful for Friday night’s Big Ten tournament game in Indianapolis after he injured his right hand in practice on Wednesday.

The injury is being called a severely bruised hand. An Illinois spokesman said this morning that Frazier is undergoing further evaluation but that the school does not plan to release an update on his status today.

“We’ll have no update about the severity other than to say he’s doubtful,” the spokesman said, adding that new information was received this morning to downgrade his chances of playing.

Frazier is the Big Ten’s assists leader and the Illini’s top defensive player as well as ranking second on the team in rebounding.

The senior from Baltimore has had an injury-riddled career at Illinois, but he has managed to start all 31 games this season, including several early in the season when he had a badly bruised thigh.

It’s time for McCamey to become a leader…let’s see how he handles it. Hmmm…that means more game time for Legion, which he needs, and could make things interesting offensively.
