Illinois gets No. 5 seed in South
Illinois is the No. 5 seed in the South Regional but has to go to the West Coast for the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Illini will play No. 12 seed Western Kentucky on Thursday in Portland, Ore.
Tournament game times will be announced later tonight by CBS.
Illinois (24-9) finished second in the Big Ten regular season, and lost to Purdue in the conference tournament semifinals.
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (24-8) are champions of the Sun Belt Conference. More on them, and how the Illini match up, later tonight.
