No decision yet by Illini on Jeff Jordan
Illinois coach Bruce Weber said this afternoon that he hasn’t made a decision about whether to accept Jeff Jordan’s request to return to the Illini for the 2009-10 season.
Weber and other coaches have met with Jordan in recent days but are not yet sure about his level of commitment. Jordan played the last two seasons but announced in the offseason that he was going to quit playing basketball and concentrate on academics.
“Before we move forward with it, we have to continue to have discussions,” Weber said. “The words we’re looking for are ‘total commitment’ to make sure if Jeff wants to come back that he is totally committed to become part of the team.”
Weber said he hopes to have a decision by Friday, when the Illini hold their first practice.

Just goes to show you that there is No such thing as a “College Athlete” when the team Questions a kid’s ‘Total Commitment’! Hey Weber; how about the idea of Total=Education and Commitment=Basketball!
